Texas Style Kolaches

The migration of Czech immigrants to Texas during the late 1800s facilitated the spread of kolache culture to the Lone Star State. Rapidly embraced by the burgeoning Czech community, kolaches gained widespread popularity. By the early 1900s, Texas was home to over 9,000 Czech immigrants, each bringing cherished recipes for these delectable treats.
As time passed, Texan bakeries infused their creative twists into the traditional kolache, resulting in a diverse array of flavors. Today, one can relish kolaches filled with a variety of ingredients ranging from spicy jalapenos and savory sausage to indulgent cream cheese and succulent fruit.

How it all came together
In the Bible, there is a passage that the new donut shop owners identify: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6.
Terry and Robert live by that creed, were born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, and love our city which we have always called home. Our grandparents, parents, and their daughter were born and raised here.
Terry and daughter Erica attended Tucson High School and Terry retired from the University of Arizona of 30 years of service. Robert attended Sunnyside High School and the University of Arizona and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts and a Minor in Studio Arts. He worked with KGUN-TV (an ABC Affiliate) in production and Creative Services for 28 years and with Advance Auto Parts as a parts driver for 2 years. Robert wanted to start a business in a creative service business but couldn't get the capital needed to start the new venture. He was looking for used equipment to "Boot Strap" the new endeavor when he saw that one of the well-known staples was for sale. Robert told his wife about how important it is to keep it going and how it's known as one of the personalities of Tucson as a small independent business.
Terry and Robert called the previous owner inquiring about the sale of the donut shop, we got an interview, were chosen out of multiple candidates, and purchased the establishment as, "Rise'n Shine Donuts and More". Our new dream came to fruition. They want to add and keep the same donuts that they have loved and kept the name "Young Donuts" (DBA).
Terry and Robert have always appreciated and supported small independent businesses, which have an important role in the community. It can support jobs, economic growth, stability, cohesion, and other important factors.
Today, they added more variety of donuts, tortillas, Breakfast sandwiches, burritos, and kolaches. Broaster chicken now comes with sides like homemade chipotle sauce, salsa, and potato salad, along with curly breaded fries. As well as breakfast burritos and sandwiches for those looking for more than sweet indulgence.
